We create Japanese gardens around the world together with the most skilled garden masters from Japan

Our garden masters have experience working everything from small gardens for private homes to large-scale gardens for public and commercial spaces. We do everything we can to make each project successful depending on the budget and conditions at hand. If the garden is built in conjunction with a building, it is important for us to communicate with the architects who are designing the building so that the design of the garden is in line with that of the building. Almost all our garden masters have extensive experience from collaborating with architects, and they can easily take in ideas, suggestions, or requests from an architect.

● Building a Japanese garden for a private home

The most common projects for us is to create Japanese gardens for private homes. It can be small spaces with Bonsai-like details or a minimalistic Zen garden, which can be seen in the temples in Kyoto. There are so many different styles of Japanese gardens, and we can help you to find the one that works best with the environment and your taste.

● Japanese garden as a public project

We build new gardens for public spaces, provide maintenance of already built Japanese gardens in public spaces as well as remodel the appearance of Japanese gardens in public spaces. Japanese gardens have been built in public spaces around the world. For example, there is a Japanese garden in Monaco, which was built at the request of Prince Rainier III. Many Japanese gardens in public spaces have been built as symbols of friendship between sister cities or countries.

● Japanese garden for a commercial space

We offer our services for restaurants, hotels, shopping malls, etc. Our garden masters are all used to working with various commercial environments.

Local collaboration

It is important that a Japanese garden is built in collaboration with local garden builders. Our garden masters design the gardens, but much of the construction work must be done by local builders. In some European countries such as France, the UK, and Germany, our agency already have contact with local builders, while in other countries we need to establish a collaboration with local garden builders as a first step in the process of building a Japanese garden.

● Making the best use of local materials

We make sure to use local materials in order to reduce shipping costs and use materials adapted to the local climate. This makes it easier to maintain the garden, and it is also environmentally more friendly. The same was done when building the internationally well-known “Monaco Japanese garden”. The bamboo hedges, tiles, stone lanterns, and the woods used in the various structures (gate, tea house, etc.) were all imported from Japan, while the plants and trees were local.

Maintenance work

The maintenance of a Japanese garden is very important since it is crucial to look after the many details of the garden to preserve its beauty. Depending on the size and type of the garden, the garden needs maintenance work minimum twice a year – typically in the end of the summer, around September or October, and in the beginning of the spring, around March or April. Some Japanese gardens require even more frequent maintenance.
